ARCEP & AFD Technologies: Results of quality of service
The survey of QoS conducted annually by ARCEP aims firstly to assess the QoS offered to mobile subscribers by mobile operators, on a comparative basis on hand, and on other hand to verify the compliance to regulatory requirements in terms of quality of services are respected.
A campaign of tests of four months was launched on March 21, 2011 by the service of measurement and drive test. AFD Technologies conducted a team of twenty people: technicians measurement but also by coordinators, project managers, engineers and post processing engineers.
2011 survey was conducted between March 1, 2011 and July 13, 2011. During the investigation, the operators Bouygues Telecom, Orange France and SFR were not aware of the dates and locations where the measurements were performed. They also ignored the list of cities for investigation randomly chosen within cities of less than 400,000 inhabitants neither the type of subscriptions used for the survey.
2011 survey confirmed good level of global QoS voice observed since several years. This service has been tested in 52 cities of more than 10 000 inhabitants, inside and outside buildings, as well as in a moving vehicle.
